Whether your DMV renewal notice stipulates that you are required to visit a STAR station, or not, our Smog Check & Test Only Center makes it easy to stay compliant.
Our STAR certified Smog Check & Test Only Center is authorized to perform Test Only smog inspections, so remember to visit us every two years.
HOW IS A SMOG TEST CARRIED OUT?
✓ EMISSIONS INSPECTION
After all your paperwork has been filled in, a smog check machine is used to measure the Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Oxide, and Hydrocarbon emissions from your vehicle’s exhaust.
✓ VISUAL INSPECTION
An experienced technician will visually check your vehicle to ensure that all the emissions components are present and securely connected. A smoke check is also done, to identify if your vehicle is emitting visible smoke.
✓ FUNCTIONAL INSPECTION
In this final step, the smog test technician will check the following your vehicle’s engine light and ignition timing. For 1996 and new vehicles, the On-Board Diagnosis (OBD) system is checked.
Once the results have been submitted to the DMV, a report will be generated.
As a Smog Check & Test Only Center, we are not authorized to perform any smog repairs. Our function is to carry out an accurate and unbiased smog inspection.
